Working with council’s Environment Education Officers Rebecca Bond, Julie Dickson, Hanna Camilleri, Rosalee Kennedy, and my fellow consultants and presenters Chiara Perri, Craig Findlow we create programs and conduct online and in person workshops that give people confidence to grow wildlife friendly gardens.
I run workshops that cover garden design, naturestrip gardening, gardening for renters and on a budget and I write guides for participants. On the Wyndham Habitat Heroes program, I give one-hour consultations – a hand drawn design of backyards, front yards and naturestrips. I encourage, give advice, pat dogs, and recommend 40 indigenous plants (supplied by Newport Nursery) to these wonderful, courageous humans who invite me into their gardens and homes to discuss ripping up fake turf, weed mat, pebbles and buffalo lawn, wrenching out Yuccus, repairing the earth and the journey of garden making.
