The Claremont garden responds to a simple brief - create a low maintenance garden on an exposed roof, 20 storeys high that enhances the views of Melbourne. We design a water feature to reflect the sky, to announce to guests as they enter the penthouse that yes indeedy do, they are at the very top of the building. We select tough, drought tolerant, wind tolerant, full sun tolerant plants: Strelitzia reginae, Buxus sempervirens and the Echinocactus grusonii to create serene, mounding clouds to frame the city beyond.
